Yamaha MT-15 gets an update in Thailand for 2024

KUALA LUMPUR: Yamaha has given an update to its popular naked bike, the MT-15, in the Thai market. The upgraded model comes in new paint schemes - Racing Blue, Matt Black, and Metallic Gray.  The new 2024 Yamaha MT-15 is priced at THB 1,10,000 (approx RM 14,650) in the Land of Rising Sun.

    Powering the 2024 Yamaha MT-15 is the same tried and tested 155-cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine which dishes out a maximum power of 19 hp at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.7 Nm at 7,500 rpm, making it one of the strongest and torquiest bikes in its segment. The power is sent to the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox equipped with an assist-slipper clutch.

    As for the suspension, the Japanese naked bike comes loaded with inverted forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. The braking duties are handled by single-disc brakes at both axles, complemented by a dual-channel anti-lock braking system.

    The Malaysia-spec Yamaha MT-15 comes in Cyan Storm, Icon Blue, and Midnight Black colours introduced back in 2022. It is priced at RM 12,298 (on the road, without insurance).
