Yamaha Malaysia updates MT-25 colour palette
KUALA LUMPUR: Like the 2021 Yamaha MT-15, the new MT-25 also benefits from an upgraded colour scheme. Its palette now includes Yamaha Blue and Strom Fluo, instead of the previously available Ice Fluo and Yamaha Blue options. The best part of the whole deal is that Yamaha MT-25’s price remains the same as last year, i.e. RM 21,500.
Note, the above-mentioned price excludes registration, road tax, and insurance. However, it does include a two-year or 20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects and a Yamaha disc lock worth RM 100.
Coming to the 2021 Yamaha MT-25 power setup, it gets a 249cc, two-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill with DOHC and eight valves. From the EFI fed parallel-twin, the unit pumps out a maximum power of 35.5 hp at 12,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 23.6 Nm at 10,000 rpm. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive.
What else? Well, this 165 kg quarter-litre naked sports bike comes with a 14-litre fuel tank and 780 mm seat height. It also gets - centrally mounted LED headlight with LED DRLs, LED tail lights, LED turn indicators with hazard function, and an LCD instrument panel with shift light display.
On the suspension front, it gets 37 mm diameter KYB upside-down forks at the front and a 7-step preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. Taking care of the braking duties Is a single hydraulic disc brake at both ends. Two-channel ABS is available as standard.
Seems like Yamaha is doing it all to attract young buyers. What do you think?
