KUALA LUMPUR: Good news enthusiastic riders!! The official distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Malaysia, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM), has refreshed its lineup for the season.

HLYM has not only introduced the updated YZF-R25 but also given the MT-25 a visual update for the model year 2022.

2022 Yamaha YZF-R25 details

Price: The new YZF-R25 retails for RM 22,998 which is certainly a little high compared to the previous-gen model.

Mechanical updates: For the extra price a customer pays, the quarter-litre sportsbike gets a received braking system with ABS, and LED turn signal lights. Also part of the kit is RM 100 worth of Yamaha safety disc lock.

New colours: Yamaha has included two new hues for the YZF-R25 namely Racing Blue and Orange Lynx.

Powertrain: The new YZF-R25 continues to draw power from a 249 cc in-line two-cylinder DOHC unit generating maximum power of 35 hp at 12,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 22.6 Nm at 10,000 rpm.

2022 Yamaha MT-25 details 

Price: The new MT-25 like the 2022 YZF-R25 retails for RM 22,998 which is slightly higher than the previous-gen model.

Mechanical updates: For a little extra price, the motorcycle receives minor hardware upgrades. Also part of the kit is RM 100 worth Yamaha safety disc lock.

Powertrain: The new MT-25 is powered by a 249 cc in-line two-cylinder DOHC unit generating a maximum power of 35 hp at 12,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 22.6 Nm at 10,000 rpm.

New colours: Yamaha MT-25 now gets two new hues, Icon Blue and Cyan Storm.
