Yamaha Malaysia launches all-new YZF-R15M, check details

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Malaysia, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has pulled the wraps off the all-new YZF-R15M sportsbike. Yes, it is the same Yamaha that was caught several times doing test runs around the country.

With a recommended price tag of RM 14,998 (excluding tax, registration, or insurance), the new Yamaha YZF-R15M is offered in two variant options and packs several upgrades both on the design and mechanical side.

Key highlights of the new Yamaha YZF-R15M -

Engine: Powering the YZF-R15M is a 155cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-valve, SOHC powertrain generating a maximum power output of 19.04 hp at 10,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm

Transmission: The drive is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed, slipper clutch and assist equipped gearbox.

Breaking & suspension: A smooth ride is ensured by an upside-telescopic non-adjustable front forks and preload-adjustable mono shock at the back. Taking care of braking are single hydraulic discs at both ends with two-channel ABS standard.

Features: The new Yamaha comes equipped with several gears that make the ride easy and fun. Included in the list are - Y-Connect, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, two-mode monochrome LCD display (Street/Track; showing all necessary information like laptimer), and traction control.
