Yamaha is busy developing a fully-faired retro motorcycle, the XSR GP

KUALA LUMPUR: As per a Japanese publication, Young Machine, Yamaha is busy working on a brand new product. Called the XSR GP, this retro-style fully-flared motorcycle once on the ground will compete with the likes of the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR and Honda Hawk 11.

Speaking of Young Machine, apart from being a provider of insider information, especially concerning the Japanese Big Four factory, it offers interesting images proving its claims.

For instance, in its latest issue, one can clearly see the rendered image of the Yamaha XSR GP and get a good idea of what is coming.

What to expect from the upcoming Yamaha XSR GP?

In terms of design, the upcoming Yamaha is a retro-style motorcycle that resembles the Hawk 11 and MV Agusta Superveloce 800
Powering the upcoming Yamaha will be the same 800cc CP3 mill that under the XSR 900 makes 117.3 hp and 93 Nm of torque.

What the future holds for Yamaha?

In addition to the upcoming XSR GP, Yamaha is also expected to bring along a fully-faired race-type YZF-R9, as the brand earlier this year patented the R9 and XSR GP nameplate.

Yamaha XSR GP in Malaysia?

We don’t think so, as Yamaha Malaysia's lineup does not include any XSR model in its range.
