KUALA LUMPUR: Yamaha’s most popular 125cc offering, the Cygnus Griffus, has recently received an all-new avatar in the home market. Called the Monster Energy Edition, the new Japanese scooter entices customers with a special Monster Energy race livery that was earlier introduced for the R15 V4.0 and the Aerox scooter.

Among the other key highlights are a single-piece stepped-up seat, a wide handlebar, a flat footboard, angular mirrors, and a side-slung exhaust. As for the suspension, the scooter comes equipped with telescopic forks at the front and twin springs at the rear. Handling the braking duties efficiently are single discs on both ends.
This Yamaha Cygnus Griffus Monster Energy Edition will go on sale in the Japanese market in January 2023 at a price of JPY 368,500 (approximately equal to RM 12,259). While it is unlikely to arrive in Malaysia, the brand currently retails the two 125-cc models in the local market viz. Ego Avantiz and Ego Gear.
