Vespa 946 Dragon scooter breaks cover; limited to 1,888 units

KUALA LUMPUR: Vespa continues its tradition of crafting exclusive and exciting special edition scooters with the unveiling of the all-new Vespa 946 Dragon. This remarkable model is dedicated to the Chinese New Year 2024, the Year of the Dragon, symbolising prosperity and good fortune in Chinese culture. It will be available in a limited quantity of 1,888 units.

Based on the Vespa 946 model, the special edition scooter is sprayed with a light golden colour and features new decals and a vibrant emerald green dragon motif that twists around its surface.

“Hand-crafted in Italy and leveraging cutting-edge technology, the bold design of the Vespa 946 Dragon marks a coming together of cultures, innovation, and sophistication, telegraphing a distinct sense of energy and power,” says Vespa.

Just like the other Vespa scooters, the 946 Dragon edition also has a metal-monocoque body with a single leading-link shock upfront suspension and a 220mm disc braking system. The stylish two-wheeler rides on 12-inch wheels.

Powering the Vespa 946 Dragon scooter is a 125-cc single-cylinder engine that is tuned to generate a maximum power of 11.7 hp and a peak torque of 10.3 Nm. Among the other key highlights are LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster.

To commemorate the Lunar New Year, Vespa also released its inaugural fashion item, the exclusive Dragon Varsity Jacket. It echoes the scooter’s legacy and style with an iconic V monogram up front and an emerald green dragon motif. The hand-crafted Jacket is made out of ribbed wool and Nappa leather.
