Triumph Malaysia launches 2019 Speed Triple 1050 RS

KUALA LUMPUR: 2019 Triumph Speed Triple 1050 RS has been launched in Malaysia with a price tag of RM 109,900 (excluding registration, road tax, and insurance) and will be available only on special orders. This is the company’s latest flagship model that carries a naked body design along with an impressive specs-sheet.

The super sports bike has a single seating option and boasts a highly aggressive outfit. Apart from the suspension column and the exhaust pipe has golden accents on the visible surfaces. At the front, it features a twin headlight setup, and the side mirrors are attached at the end of the handlebar. Moreover, the two-wheeler is built on a new aluminium sub-frame that accounts for 189 kg of dry weight (3 kg decrement from the previous generation).

The bike flaunts an angle-adjustable full-color TFT panel that displays all the necessary information and even six different drive modes. For better comfort, there is Ohlins 43 mm NIX30 upside down forks at the front and Ohlins TTX36 twin tube monoshock unit at the rear. It draws the stopping power from a combination of Brembo 4.32 Monobloc four-piston radial-mount callipers and a single Brembo calliper for the front and rear, respectively. The brakes are also supplemented by Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) to prevent complete locking of wheels.

Speed Triple 1050 RS has a three-cylinder Triumph engine as its powerhouse that delivers a maximum power of 150 PS at 10,500 rpm and a peak torque of 117 Nm at 7,150 rpm. The mill is mated to a six-speed gearbox that transfers the power to the rear wheel via a chain-final-drive layout.

The motorbike is available in two color options, namely Crystal White and Matte Jet Black.
