Naza Group of Companies donates RM 1.25 million to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) fund
KUALA LUMPUR: In a global fight against coronavirus, all the communities, groups, organizations are playing their part in their own way. Speaking about the automobile industry, some automakers are manufacturing medical equipment such as ventilators, face masks, some are lending the fleet of vehicles, and some are contributing the money as a support to the government. The latest in this list is Naza Group of Companies. The group has come forward to donate RM 1.25 million to the COVID-19 fund of the Malaysian government.
Group CEO and Executive Chairman, SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin handed the donation to the Prime Minister YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday at the Prime Minister’s Office.
While praising the government’s initiatives, SM Nasarudin said, “We hope the contribution by Naza Group will help alleviate the plight of those financially impacted by job disruptions and loss of earnings resulting from this global pandemic. We are all thankful for the selfless commitment shown by our medical practitioners, the police and armed forces and other frontliners in helping to manage this situation and keep us safe.”
He also added, “Apart from this monetary contribution, Naza Group will actively look at ways we can leverage through our businesses to assist the Ministry of Health in managing this unprecedented crisis. As Malaysians, we must come together during this critical period to overcome the adversities that lie ahead”.
Currently, the Naza Group is the sole importer and distributor for Ducati in Malaysia. It also manufactures bikes and scooters under the Naza brand at Shah Alam manufacturing plant in Selangor.
