Meet Yamaha’s new electric scooter, the EMF
KUALA LUMPUR: Amid the increasing demand for electric vehicles, the Japanese bike maker Yamaha pulled the wraps off a new electric scooter named EMF in Taiwan. The new e-scooter is a product of its association with EV maker, Gogoro, which is the country’s largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer.

The new Yamaha EMF underpins a completely new DNA with an entirely fresh design and aesthetics. It comes with a minimal front apron styling, a vertically stacked twin-pod headlight cluster, a single-piece seat, afterburner-styled dual LED tail lights, and trendy rearview mirrors.
Other key inclusions of the new Yamaha EMF e-scooter are a digital instrument console, power modes, an NFC-enabled smart key, and a cup holder. A range of connectivity features such as last parking location and turn-by-turn navigation can be accessed via the Yamaha app.
The braking duties of the scooter are taken care of by a 200 mm disc at the front and a 190 mm disc at the rear. For efficient braking, a combined braking system (CBS) is also there.
Yamaha offers the new EMF electric scooter in three colour options - Dark Black, Dark Green, and Light Blue.
In Taiwan, the price tag of the new EMF e-scooter for early birds reads NT$ 99,800 (approx RM 15,082).
