Meet Kymco’s new maxi-scooter, the KRV200

KUALA LUMPUR: The Taiwanese bikemaker Kymco has introduced an all-new maxi-scooter in the European market, called the KRV200. It is said to be a smaller version of the brand’s highly-popular AK550 scooter carrying the same sort of modern styling and top-end features but in a 200cc package.

With that said, the new Kymco KRV200 features a contemporary design with full-LED headlights on the front. The two-seater saddle looks stylish and comes paired with a flat footrest and the double kickstand. Delivering all the necessary driving-related information to the rider is an LCD digital instrument cluster, which comprises a speedometer, odometer, tachometer, fuel level, battery voltage, clock, and indicators for coolant temperature.

At the core of the new Kymco scooter sits a 175-cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine delivering a maximum power of 17 hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 15.6 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The top speed is rated at 107 kmph and if we talk about the mileage, Kymco claims that the vehicle can offer up to 33 kmpl. 

Other key inclusions are -

• Traction control system that can be operated by a switch positioned on the left-side switchgear array
• Two USB charging socket
• Bag hook
• Spacious underseat storage compartment that can store a full-face helmet
• 13-inch wheels wrapped with 110/70 front and 130/70 rear tyres
• Suspension setup boasts 33 mm diameter telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock 
• Hydraulic disc brakes on both ends measuring 270 mm at the front and 234 mm at the rear
• Two-wheel anti-lock braking system

The list of available accessories comprises - a Kymco K-Charge battery charger,  top-box support, and a windshield.
