Malaysia-spec Yamaha MT-15 available in new colours

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new 2021 Yamaha MT-15 benefits from a new colour palette for the local market. The new colours on offer include - Grey, Black, and Blue tone and the best part is the unchanged price tag, i.e., RM 11,988 (excluding registration, road tax, and insurance). Included in the price is a Yamaha disc lock worth RM 100 and a two-year/20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects.

Let's now see what all the Yamaha MT-15 has on offer along with the new colour options and price inclusions. Starting with the powertrain -

The 2021 Yamaha MT-15 is powered by a 155 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, variable valve actuation mill that pumps out a maximum power of 19 hp at 10,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm. The power is sent to the 17-inch wheels via a 6-speed, slipper, and assist-equipped gearbox and chain final drive.

At the suspension front is present upside-down forks with gold anodised fork legs at the front and preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Helping the bike stop is a single hydraulic disc on the front and rear wheels.

The MT-15 weighs 133 kg and its fuel tank can carry 10.4 litres of fuel. It also benefits from LED head- and tail-light and a monochrome LCD instrument panel display.
