Malaysia gets two new Kawasaki bikes - Z900RS SE and Versys 650 SE

KUALA LUMPUR: Modenas has expanded its lineup in Malaysia with the launch of two new exciting Kawasaki models, namely the 2024 Kawasaki Z900RS SE and the 2024 Kawasaki Versys 650 SE. Set to hit the local showrooms next month, these latest Kawasaki machines will be available in a limited quantity.

Let’s know about the new Kawasaki bikes in detail, starting with the 2024 Kawasaki Z900RS SE.

2024 Kawasaki Z900RS SE

The Z900RS SE is a retro bike that pays tribute to the iconic Z1. It blends the essence of vintage bikes with modern features and appeals to enthusiasts who love classic styles. Key features include - all-around LED lighting, a 17-litre fuel tank, and classic round analogue gauges. Adding a striking visual element to the overall design are eye-catching 17-inch gold-painted wheels. 

The bike is kitted with Ohlins S46 rear shock, known for its high-quality construction. The front suspension has also been fine-tuned to work in tandem with the new rear shock, and a remote preload adjuster allows easy customisation for tandem riding or carrying luggage. The braking duties are handled by 300 mm Brembo front discs and M4.32 radial-mount monobloc callipers.

Powering the 2024 Kawasaki Z900RS SE is a 948-cc inline-four engine that generates a maximum power of 111 hp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 98.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The power is transferred to the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox mated to the chain final drive.

The 2024 Kawasaki Z900RS SE is priced at RM 73,700 (excluding road tax, insurance or registration). It is offered in a Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Matte Carbon Gray colour option.

2024 Kawasaki Versys 650 SE

The new Versys 650 SE is the perfect touring companion targeting adventure enthusiasts and long-distance riders who seek both comfort and practicality. The bike has a mounting width of 93 cm, which makes it optimal for high-speed cruising.

One of the standout features of the Versys 650 SE is its 56-litre quick-release pannier system, which offers ample storage space for long-distance travel. These detachable panniers can ​​accommodate full-face helmets without any hassle.

At the core of the 2024 Kawasaki Versys 650 SE lies a 649 cc, parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine tuned to make 65.7 hp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 61 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm.

The 2024 Kawasaki Versys 650 SE is offered in two colours in Malaysia - Metallic Spark Black and Candy Lime Green/Metallic Flat Spark Black, priced at RM 43,600 and RM 44,200, respectively.
