Lego Technic BMW M 1000 RR revealed with functional components
KUALA LUMPUR: This holiday season BMW Motorrad brought something gorgeous and indulgent for the auto-enthusiasts i.e. LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR. It is a 1:5 scale model of the M 1000 RR sportbike, priced at $229.99 (approximately equal to RM 964). It will be available exclusively on BMW’s official website and Lego stores from January 1, 2022, and from March 1 in other global stores.

The Lego Technic BMW M 1000 RR model will be available exclusively on BMW’s official website and Lego stores from January 1, 2022, and from March 1 in other global stores.Dimensionally, the LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR measures 276 mm in height, 454 mm in length, and 170 mm in width. It is made up of 1,920 individual parts. These include some fully functional components like a three-speed gearbox, the upside-down fork, and the rear swingarm suspension system. Giving the model a more realistic feel is an authentic racing flair, paddock stand, and a cockpit with three different display options. Gold-coloured drive chain is also a part of the kit.
“When the management of BMW Motorrad announced the first M model on two wheels, the BMW M 1000 RR, everyone knew that it would be something special. In the same way, the LEGO Technic team realised they needed to come up with something unprecedented to pay tribute to the M RR. The result is a motorcycle and a technical model that each represents the state of the art in their respective fields,” said Ralf Rodepeter, Head of Marketing and Product Management at BMW Motorrad.
“It’s been so much fun getting underneath the skin of such a significant model for BMW Motorrad. There’s a reason why these beautifully engineered bikes are so universally loved by the biking community, and we are confident our LEGO Technic version is a winner like its real-life namesake,” said Samuel Tacchi, designer at the LEGO Group.
Speaking about the original BMW M 1000 RR, the track scorcher is powered by a 999-cc, inline four-cylinder mill that generates a maximum power output of 209 hp at 14,500 rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm. In terms of performance, the brand’s first-ever M bike is capable of running from zero to 100 kmph in 3.1 seconds before attaining a top speed of 306 kmph. It retails for $32,495 (RM 136,882).
