Kuala Lumpur Bike Show 2023: Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX debuts in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Alongside unveiling the Avenis 125 scooter, Suzuki Malaysia also showcased the upcoming V-Strom 250 SX at the Kuala Lumpur Bike Show yesterday. The latest Suzuki motorcycle hails from the quarter-litre dual-sport adventure segment. 

The Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX is fitted with a 250-cc single-cylinder oil-cooled SOHC engine that is capable of producing 26 hp of maximum output at 9,300 rpm and 22.2 Nm of torque at 7,300 rpm. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed manual transmission and chain final drive. 

In terms of design, the new Suzuki bike follows the design language of the V-Strom 1050 XT. It features an LCD instrument panel, LED tail light, and 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels wrapped with 100/90 and 140/70 tyres, respectively. The seat height is measured at 835 mm.

The suspension setup comprises a telescopic fork at the front and a mono-shock shock absorber at the rear. Helping the bike stop are front and rear brake discs assisted by an anti-lock braking system.

Expected to launch soon in Malaysia, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX is offered in three colours in the global market - Champion Yellow, Pearl Blaze Orange, and Glass Sparkle Black.

While the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX price is yet to be revealed, we can take a reference from the Indonesian market, where this ‘baby’ dual-sport adventure bike retails for IDR 59.5 million (approximately equal to RM 18,089).
