Keeway unveils two new scooters - E-Zi and Blueshark

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2021 EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) motorcycle show introduced us to many latest two-wheelers and two of them are Keeway E-Zi and Blueshark. The Chinese scooters run on electricity with the prices falling in the entry-level bracket. They will hit the market starting the first half of 2022. Let’s dive into their details starting with the Keeway E-Zi.

    The lightweight electric scooter tips the scales at 55 kg (75 kg in Citi) and is loaded with premium components like full LED lights, a USB charging port, remote control, digital LED instrument panel, a dedicated app, and 14-inch wheels (with Mini and Citi versions) 12-inch wheels with 70/90 tyres (with Plug variant). The available riding modes are Eco and Power. 

    Moving to the Keeway Blueshark R1, it is a full-size scooter, unlike the E-Zi. Being a spearhead of the brand’s new electric range, the EV is equipped with a 3000 W motor and 48V / 30 Ah lithium battery, that can run for 100 miles on a single charge with a top speed of 80 kmph. A weakened version comes with a 1500W motor and a maximum speed of 45 kmph.

    Other significant highlights of the Keeway Blueshark R1 are 10-inch LED instrumentation paired with the ArkRide operating system, USB socket, 12-inch wheels, double hydraulic disc brakes with a combined braking system.

    The Chinese automaker will announce the prices of new scooters in the coming weeks.
