Is CFMoto Malaysia on a spree to update its local line-up?

KUALA LUMPUR: Days are looking good for the Malaysian two-wheeler market. Brands constantly update existing models and introduce new ones in the local market. One motorcycle brand that has been in the news recently is CFMoto. The brand recently updated the 250SR model by introducing a new Lava Orange hue and announced the availability of a new and revised 2022 650 MT sport-tourer.

We now hear that CFMoto is set to introduce a new middleweight sports motorcycle in Malaysia. Called the CFMoto 450SR, the bike is scheduled to launch in October during MotoGP weekend at the Sepang International Circuit.

The upcoming CFMoto 450SR is believed to be the production version of the recently released SR-C21 concept. And our reliable sources tell us that CFMoto Malaysia’s local distributors are gearing up to add the new motorcycle to the line-up.

What do we know about the upcoming CFMoto 450SR?

Line-up positioning: The new 450SR is said to enjoy a slot above the brand’s entry-level 250SR model.

Powertrain: Though not confirmed by official sources, the 450SR is rumored to be powered by a 449cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine generating maximum power of 50 hp and a peak torque of 39 Nm.

Highlighting inclusions: The upcoming CFMoto motorcycle features Brembo braking, ABS, and MotoGP-inspired winglets capable of generating around 2kg of downforce at 120 kmph.

Rivals: Once launched in the Malaysian market, the CFMoto 450SR will go against KTM RC390 and Kawasaki Ninja 400.

Price: Since nothing is official yet, we don’t have the actual pricing; however, in its home country (China), CFMoto is retailing the 450SR for RMB 31,980 (approx RM 21,368.72).
