Honda's new touring bike for the international market, 2022 NT1100

KUALA LUMPUR: All-new 2022 Honda NT1100 is Honda's latest sports-touring motorcycle. Revealed for the international market, the new touring bike is based on the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin.

Powering 2022 NT1100 is a 1,084 cc, 8-valve, parallel-twin powerplant making a maximum power of 100 bhp at 7,250 rpm along with a peak torque of 104 Nm at 6,250 rpm. Equipped with a 270 degree phased crankshaft, the mill is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, also available is Honda's DCT.

For enhancing the ride quality and experience, Honda has fitted the new NT1100 with several electronic aids like -

- Honda Selectable Torque Control

- Wheelie Control

- Three default riding modes (Urban, Tour, & Rain)

- Two customisable riding modes

- Three modes of operation with DCT gearbox (MT, D mode, and S mode)

- ABS

Not to forget, the CRF1100L Africa Twin contribution, the NT1100 uses the former's semi-double-cradle frame with bolt-on aluminium subframe. Helping it deliver a smooth ride all along is its suspension setup that includes a 43 mm Showa USD front forks and Showa mono-shock at the rear. Handling the braking duties is a 310 mm twin disc at the front with radially-mounted calipers and a single 256 mm disc at the rear.

The all-new Honda NT1100 is undoubtedly a new-age bike and therefore comes loaded with several smart features. For instance, it gets full LED lighting, self-cancelling indicators, 5-stage adjustable windscreen, emergency stop signal, central stand, USB & ACC socket, a 6.5-inch TFT touch screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, & Bluetooth connectivity, and Panniers.
