Honda Gold Wing Tour gets an update in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Boon Siew Honda has introduced an all-new colour option for the luxurious Gold Wing Tour in Malaysia. This ultimate Japanese machine now comes in a new Heavy Gray Metallic shade, enhancing its elegant design.

With the colour upgrade, the Honda Gold Wing Tour also witnessed a slight change in pricing. It is now offered at RM 212,888 (excluding insurance, registration, and road tax), which means buyers will need to shell out an additional amount of RM 2000 compared to the previous year's model.

Sprayed with the fresh colour, the touring motorcycle features the same 1,833-cc flat-six SOHC 24-valve engine which is tuned to generate a maximum power of 124.7 hp at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 170 Nm at 4,500 rpm. Sending power to the rear wheel is a seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) gearbox.

The technical setup also comprises a Throttle-By-Wire system with four selectable riding modes - Tour, Sport, Econ, and Rain. With the help of these models, riders can adjust the drive settings as per their preferences and riding conditions. As for improved fuel efficiency, It incorporates an Idling Stop and Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) in DCT mode, which automatically stops the engine when the bike is stationary and assists in restarting the engine.

Designed for long-distance travellers, the bike comes equipped with a 61-litre luggage box which allows riders to store all their essentials comfortably.

The stylish Honda Gold Wing Tour features an LED headlight with 5 polished optical lenses on both sides and a Jewel-Eye low beam light signature. Adding to the comfort is an adjustable electric windscreen, offering protection from wind and adverse weather conditions.

Another key highlight is a 7-inch TFT display that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity, ensuring riders have easy access to navigation, communication, and entertainment options. 

Other features include - Honda Selectable Torque Control, an audio system with 55-watt speakers, Hill Start Assist, LED fog lights, a USB charging port, Honda Smart Key, and a suede-like seat cover.

The bike rides on 18-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels shod with 130/70 and 200/55 tyres, respectively. Handling the suspension duties are double wishbones at the front and a single-sided Pro Arm at the rear. As for braking, the bike is loaded with twin 320 mm discs at the front and a single 310 mm disc at the rear. 

The 2024 Honda Gold Wing Tour will be available at all authorised Honda BigWing dealerships across Malaysia in August 2024.
