Honda’s first electric dirt bike ‘CRF-E2’ breaks cover
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda enters the mini-motocrosser market with its electric dirt bike called CRF-E2. It is a collaborative product of Honda and a California-based startup Greenger Powersports. The latter manufactures the bike under a license from Honda and sold exclusively through Honda Powersports dealers in North America. It is priced at $2950 (approximately equal to RM 12,353).

Powering the new Honda CRF-E2 electric bike is a 48V BDLC motor that generates a maximum power output of 3.4 hp and a peak torque of 25 Nm. It comes with two riding modes -Stage 1 and Stage 2.
The motor is coupled with a swappable lithium-ion battery offering a range of about 2 hours on a full charge. With the standard charger, it takes 4 hours to charge, while a quick charger can reduce that time to 2.5 hours.
As for suspension, the EV is equipped with a hydraulic conventional telescopic fork at the front and DNM rebound/preload adjustable at the rear. On the braking front lies 190 mm hydraulic caliper petal-style rotors on both ends.
