Harley-Davidson X440 debuts in India, launch soon

KUALA LUMPUR: Harley Davidson has pulled the wraps off an all-new roadster bike in India. Dubbed as the X440, the latest H-D model has been co-developed with the extremely popular Indian brand Hero MotoCorp. It is expected to launch in July 2023.

Here are the key highlights of the first Made-in-India Harley Davidson machine -

• The bike features a sportster-like styling while paying homage to the discontinued XR1200R with a mix of retro and modern bits
• Upfront lies a round LED headlamp paired with a horizontal LED DRL, LED turn indicators, and round-shaped rear view mirrors
• Towards the rear, an oval-shaped LED tail lamp is mounted on the fender
• The body of the vehicle is coated with black paint complemented by vibrant orange accents

• In terms of ergonomics, the new Harley-Davidson X440 is fairly comfortable with a flat handlebar, a scooped-out seat, and neutral footpeg positions
• It rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels shod with new MRF Zapper Hyke tyres
• The single-pod instrument cluster is all-digital and likely to support Bluetooth connectivity
• At the core of the new Harley-Davidson X440 lies a 440-cc single cylinder oil-cooled engine. The power figures are yet to be unveiled
• The tubular frame of the bike comprises an upside-down fork at the front and preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear
• Braking setup includes single-disc brakes at both ends, which are mated to a dual-channel anti-lock braking system

The upcoming Harley-Davidson X440 will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 in the Indian market which is also offered in Malaysia between RM 23,500 and RM 28,473.
