Get ready for the 2022 CFMoto 800MT adventure touring range
KUALA LUMPUR: Time to get excited as Malaysia is all booked to get the all-new 2022 CFMoto 800MT adventure touring motorcycle range. The 800MT is the product of technical and manufacturing partnership between China manufacturer CFMoto and Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM. Once launched it will be offered in three trim options across a two model range - the 800MT Touring and 800MT Sport.
What powers the 2022 CFMoto 800MT?
The 2022 CFMoto 800MT is powered by a 799 cc KTM designed parallel-twin, twin-spark, liquid-cooled with DOHC and eight-valves Euro 5 compliant mill fed by EFI with ride-by-wire throttle. The mill makes a maximum power of 95 hp at 9,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 77 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The power is transmitted to the wheels via a six-speed transmission and slipper clutch with chain final drive.
Furthermore, this mill is built in CFMoto’s China plant under license and is based on the previous-gen KTM 790 two-cylinder unit.
What is the difference between 800MT and 800MT Touring?
The variants differ in several aspects, for example the Sport gets alloy wheels while the Touring rides on spoked wheels. Also, based on its wheel size - 19-inch front and 17-inch rear, the 800MT is more of a touring bike rather than an adventure one.
800 MT braking and handling?
The CFMoto 800MT benefits from J Juan braking system - four-piston radial-mount callipers grabbing twin 320 mm steel brake discs. Cornering ABS and cruise control are part of the standard kit. Also, part of the 800 MT Touring kit is -
- Tyre pressure monitoring system
- Steering damper
- Up-and-down quick shift
- Hand guards
- Heated seat
- Heated grips
- Engine sump guard
- Centre stand
New 800MT features?
The motorcycle gets a 7-inch TFT-LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity, 19-litre fuel tank, 825 mm seat height and weighs 231 kg.
Pricing and competition?
There is no word on 2021 CFMoto 800MT pricing but it is expected to fall between RM 40,000 - RM 50,000. In Malaysia it will go against the Yamaha Tracer 900 and Benelli TRK802.
