KUALA LUMPUR: For those who aren’t aware, Blueshark is a subsidiary of Shark Gulf Technologies Group. It offers advanced electric scooters and has recently launched its brand new offering, called the Blues Kark R Series.

    Variants & Price

    In Malaysia, the e-scooter is offered in two variant options, namely the R1 and R1 Lite. They are priced as follows -

    Blueshark R Series R1

    RM 9,390

    Blueshark R Series R1 Lite

    RM 7,190 

    Included in the price is a charger with two charging cradles and a Bluetooth key. However, the buyers would need to pay a monthly rental of RM 79 for the two lithium-iron phosphate batteries.

    As for the Corporate Rental Package, it costs RM 547 per month for the R1 and RM 487 per month for the R1 Lite. It covers the e-scooter, two battery packs, scheduled maintenance, and replacement of worn-out parts.

    A refundable deposit of RM 250 will get owners a SIM card, a Bluetooth key, and an optional home charging kit.

    Features

    The e-scooter comes equipped with a 10-inch full-color IPS high-definition vibrant screen that runs on the brand’s ArkRide operating system. The latter supports media playback, GPS navigation, 4G/5G with Bluetooth connectivity, a riding recorder, and OTA updates.

    • Advanced Driver-Assistance System
    • Five driving modes
    • Connectivity via a mobile app to locate the nearest swapping stations, make service appointments, or track the vehicle's location in real time, among others.

    Powertrain

    Powering the e-scooter is a set of battery packs with a total capacity of 2,880 kW. It offers a riding range of 110 km. It generates a maximum power of 6.7 hp along with a peak torque of 201 Nm. Thus offering quick acceleration and 80 kmph of top speed.

    Blueshark R Series battery

    Charging

    The battery pack gets fully charged in 3.5 hours and is capable of more than 2,000 full charging and discharging cycles. The battery pack can also be exchanged for a fully charged pack at the BlueStation.
