CFMoto sub-brand Zeeho launched AE8 E-Scooter in China

KUALA LUMPUR: The market for electric scooters is expanding continuously as many bikemakers are introducing their models one after another. Some recent examples are the Eclimo ES-11, One Moto Electa, and Yamaha EMF. Now, adding to the list is the new Zeeho AE8 e-scooter, which has just been introduced in the Chinese market. Zeeho is the sub-brand of CFMoto.

The AE8 is basically a performance-focused electric scooter that has two versions - standard AE8 and higher-spec AE8 S+. The former is priced at CNY 17,999 (approx. RM 11,828) while the S+ price tag reads CNY 21,699 (RM 14,262).

The Chinese two-wheeler has a futuristic look sporting an adaptive headlight mounted on the front apron, arrowhead-shaped mirrors, a flat footboard, winglets on the side panels, and designer wheels. The EV comes with a single-piece seat paired with a pillion grab rail. An under-seat storage compartment is also available for the rider’s convenience.

Offering the rider all the information related to the ride is a 5.0-inch LCD curved screen in the standard model. With the higher-spec AE8 S+, Zeeho offers a 5.0-inch TFT full-colour LCD panel.

Further differentiating the two variants is the suspension system. The standard EV comes with a preload-adjustable suspension at the rear, whereas the S+ gets damping preload adjustability for the same. The latter also features dual-channel ABS in addition to the front Brembo calipers available in the base model.

Powering the Zeeho AE8 e-scooter is a mid-mounted, liquid-cooled motor paired with a swappable battery. The motor pulls out a maximum power output of 16.7hp and a surprising peak torque of 218 Nm. 

In terms of performance, the EV runs from zero to 50 kmph in 2.6 seconds and clocks a top speed of 100 kmph. It delivers a cruising range of 190 km on a single charge that takes about six hours of standard charging time. 

Included in the features list are three riding modes (Sports, Eco, and Street), disturbance alarm, anti-theft alarm, riding assist, smartphone integration, keyless unlocking, and OTA upgrades.

Zeeho offers the new AE8 electric scooter in four colours options - Starship Silver, Particle White, Lunar Eclipse Silver, and Meteorite Black.
