BMW Motorrad introduced new CE 04 and F 900 XR 'police versions'
KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new BMW CE 04 and F 900 XR 'police versions' were showcased at 2021 MILIPOL (an annual event dedicated to homeland safety and security). The motorcycles are now part of the country's two-wheel police force that already includes BMWs like the F 850 GS, R 1250 RT, and F 750 GS. And they come dressed in striking yet appropriate police exterior graphics.
Of the two, the CE 04 is an electric scooter and the F 900 XR is a middleweight tourer. Both BMW 'police versions' are fitted with elements by the BMW Motorrad plant in Berlin making them apt for the authorities. For instance, they feature LED flashlights & beacons, sirens, the 'authorities case', and switches.
As per BMW Motorrad, the authority versions can be customised and used by any organisation like military, fire brigade, and escorts. Also, BMW is offering these parts as optional for the non-police version units.
The BMW CE 04 will be used by the police force to catch criminals and evil-doers by surprise, as it can go around the town silently and efficiently. It is the perfect environmental mode of transport for the force. It has a maximum power output of 41 hp and a maximum speed of 120 kmph. Once charged its 8.9 kWh battery cell can go up to 130 km.
