All-new CFMoto 450SR’s local debut date confirmed

KUALA LUMPUR: It was a while back that we confirmed CFMotor Malaysia’s plan to expand its local lineup with the inclusion of a new motorcycle called, the 450 SR. Back then the motorcycle manufacturer didn’t announce the bike’s exact arrival date, however, now we know it all.

The all-new CFMoto 450SR launch would take place on 22nd October ahead of the 2022 Malaysia MotoGP. The latter event was previously speculated to be the 450SR’s debut stage which now might have a separate showcasing area for the new inclusion.

With the launch of the 450SR, the brand is expanding its popular SR range that already includes the 250SR.

CFMoto has a good command over the Asian and European motorcycle market, thanks to its budget-conscious big-bike offerings. For instance the 650GT, CL700, and NK650.

What do we know about the upcoming CFMoto 450 SR?

• CFMoto first showcased the new 450SR as a concept at the EICMA 2021, called the SR-C21
• It hails from the sportbike segment and aims to attract buyers looking for small-capacity bikes
• It misses out on the premium features showcased in the concept but retains the sharp & beautiful built
• Its design language resembles that of a racer bike

• The upcoming 450 SR will be powered by a 450 cc parallel-twin DOHC mill with a 270-degree crank. The unit generates a max power of 50 hp at 9,500 rpm and a peak torque of 39 Nm at 7,600 rpm
• The power is transferred to the rear wheel via a final chain drive mated to a 6-speed gearbox

• The motorcycle will feature amenities like a 5-inch TFT curved instrument display, USB charging port, and smartphone connectivity
