2024 KTM 890 SMT launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: KTM has launched its all-new middleweight motorcycle in Malaysia, the 2024 KTM 890 SMT. With an optimal fusion of an adventure bike and a street fighter, the new motorcycle is offered as a completely imported model from Austria, carrying a price tag of RM 101,800 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration).

The 2024 KTM 890 SMT is powered by an 899-cc LC8c parallel-twin mill engine that is tuned to generate a maximum power of 105 hp at 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 100 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch and chain final drive system. 

In terms of features, the new KTM is fully loaded, offering riders an ultimate level of riding experience and convenience. The list includes - 

• Three drive modes - Rain, Street, and Sport
• An optional track mode, providing adjustable throttle modes and traction control settings that can be customised across 10 levels
• 5-inch TFT-LCD displaying all the driving-related necessary information 
• Bluetooth connectivity 
• 17-inch wheels wrapped with Michelin PowerGP tyres
• A standard quick-shifter
• Heated grips

• Motor Slip Regulation
• A 15.8-litre fuel offering a driving range of more than 300 km
• WP suspension setup comprises 43 mm diameter forks at the front with adjustable rebound and compression, offering 180 mm of travel and mono-shock at the rear, which is adjustable for both preload and compression
• J.Juan braking setup uses twin 320 mm discs at the front with 4-piston radially mounted callipers and a 260 mm disc at the rear, which is also clamped by a double-piston floating calliper
• Cornering ABS along with Supermoto functionality that enables the rider to lock the rear wheels for added enjoyment during dynamic riding
