KUALA LUMPUR: Coming hot on the heels of the CB350RS is the 2024 Honda NSS250, a quarter-litre premium scooter that has the Yamaha XMax 250 in its sights. The latest Honda model intends to woo Malaysian riders with its premium design and advanced features.

At the core of the new Honda NSS250 lies a 249.5-cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC four-stroke, four-valve engine mated to eSP+ technology. It delivers a maximum power of 22.79 hp at 7,750 rm and a peak torque of 24 Nm at 6,250 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a CVT gearbox and belt drive system.
Earlier known as the Forza 250 in Japan and Indonesia, the new Honda scooter has a vibrant and premium appearance. It features dual headlamps reflecting the iconic FORZA series DNA, along with new smoky tail lamps integrated with turn signals. The scooter rides on 15-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels, wrapped with 120/70 and 140/70 rubbers, respectively.
Adding to the style is a large analogue twin metre and a liquid crystal display offering essential riding information. The metre ring has a new colour and the added light guiding area that contributes to the premium feel.
The other key features of the new Honda NSS250 are -
- Emergency Stop System: It activates the hazard lamps during sudden braking to alert the following cars.
- Honda Smart Key system: It allows riders to start the engine effortlessly without inserting a key.
- Anti-theft mechanism & answer-back switch: The Honda Smart Key system includes an anti-theft mechanism where the main switch knob spins freely if tampered with, which stops unauthorised access. It also has an answer-back switch that causes the turn signals to flicker; it comes in handy when you need to find your vehicle in crowded parking areas.
- Honda Selectable Torque Control: It enhances stability on challenging road surfaces by managing torque delivery.
- USB Type-C socket: It allows riders to charge their devices on the go.
- Electrically adjustable windshield: It moves through a range of 180 mm to suit different rider heights and riding speeds.
As far as the storage is concerned, the scooter comes with a spacious 48-litre under-seat luggage box that can accommodate two full-face helmets. Along with that, you also get a front inner box for additional storage.
As for suspension, it is equipped with non-adjustable telescopic forks at the front and twin preload-adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. The braking system comprises single hydraulic discs at both ends complemented by a two-channel ABS.
