2023 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 debuts in Malaysia; launch next month

KUALA LUMPUR: The local distributor and importer of Royal Enfield motorcycles in Malaysia, Didi Group, has recently introduced the all-new Super Meteor 650 at Art of Speed Malaysia 2023. Set to launch in September this year, the new Royal Enfield bike will be offered in two variants here - Standard and Tourer with prices estimated to be around RM 40,000.  

Let’s get to know the 2023 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 in detail - 

The bike sports a cruiser styling with a modern LED headlight, a low-set, wide seat, and a sculpted fuel tank. Offering more upright ergonomics on the Touring variant are a tall windscreen, a taller handlebar, and a pillion-seat backrest. Both variants run on striking 19-inch front and 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 100/90 and 150/80 tyres. 

The new Royal Enfield comes kitted with a retro-inspired, digi-analogue instrument cluster with a floating LCD screen and a built-in navigation panel.

Powering the 2023 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is the brand’s iconic 648-cc parallel-twin engine with Max power. It generates a maximum output of 47 PS at 7250 rpm and a peak torque of 52.3 Nm at 5650 rpm. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive system. According to the automaker, the setup promises seamless gear transitions, strong low-end acceleration, and effortless throttle response. 

As for the suspension, the Super Meteor 650 gets upside-down front forks and twin shock rear absorbers. The braking duties, on the other hand, are handled by a single 320 mm brake disc with a two-piston hydraulic calliper at the front and a single 300 mm disc with a two-piston calliper at the rear. Also part of the standard kit is a two-channel ABS.

The bookings for the new 2023 Super Meteor 650 are now underway at all Royal Enfield dealerships across Malaysia. It is offered in five colour options - Astral Blue, Astral Black, Celestial Red, Interstellar Green, and Celestial Blue.
