2023 Honda Vario 160 Repsol Edition launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Boon Siew Honda Malaysia, the official distributor of Honda motorcycles in Malaysia, has launched the all-new 2023 Honda Vario 160 Repsol Edition. Limited to just 2000 units, this special edition scooter is priced at RM 10,498 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration). Included in the price is a 2-year or 20,000 km manufacturing warranty.

The new Vario 160 Repsol edition is adorned with the paint scheme of Honda’s Repsol racing team, making the scooter look a bit more enticing and exclusive. However, there are no other changes in terms of aesthetics. 

Built with an enhanced Smart Architecture frame, the scooter continues to feature LED lights at all lighting points, including headlights, tail lights, and winkers. Also part of the kit is a monochrome LCD instrument panel, a built-in USB charger, and Honda Smart Key System (integrated with an anti-theft alarm and answer back system). The scooter tips the scale at 117 kg.

Powering the 2023 Honda Vario 160 Repsol Edition is a 157cc 4-valve engine with enhanced Smart Power Plus (eSP+) technology, which kicks out a maximum power of 15.3 hp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a CVT gearbox and belt drive system.

Other key inclusions being -

• 14-inch wheels wrapped with 100/80 and 120/70 tubeless tyres
• Telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable single shock absorber at the rear 
• Single hydraulic discs at both ends
• Single-channel ABS on the front wheel
• 18-litre under-seat storage that can store helmet and other items
• 5.5-litre fuel tank
• 778 mm seat height
