2022 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP revealed with engine updates and more

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has updated the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP with the most striking feature being its 30th-anniversary livery that gives a nod to the iconic 1992 Fireblade.

According to Honda, the 2022 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP’s bodywork is carried out by the same man who was behind the original 1992 Fireblade livery, i.e., Hiroaki Tsukui.

In addition to landmark livery, Honda’s flagship superbike benefits from engine updates and is refined for better mid-range acceleration.

2022 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP major updates -

• While the peak torque rest at 214 hp at 14,500 rpm, Honda has revamped its airbox, intake ports, and mid-section exhaust
  The final drive sprocket has been increased to 43, from the previous 40

• The traction control has been improved with a new algorithm for better rear-wheel traction. It also gets revised Nissin callipers
  The motorcycle now gets an electronic steering damper along with Showa suspension
• Three riding modes are offered as default along with the option to adjust power, engine brake, HSTC traction control, and wheelie control

• Suspension is taken care of by the electronically controlled Öhlins Smart Electronic Control setup for the 43 mm NPX front fork and TTX36 rear shock
• Braking is handled by a pair of Brembo Stylema calipers on 330 mm discs in front and a two-piston Brembo caliper on a 220 mm disc at the rear.

In addition, for rider’s convenience and comfort, the new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP gets LED high setup, TFT dash, along with six-axis IMU managing functionality of traction control, launch control, wheelie control, and cornering ABS
