2020 Yamaha YZF-R25 introduced with new colours and graphics

KUALA LUMPUR: Yamaha has launched the 2020 YZF-R25 in Malaysia with new graphics and colour options that add to its sportier avatar. First launched in 2014, the YZF-R25 has always been a preferred ride for young riders in the country. With an updated model, the love it has garnered over the years is only set to grow. The bike is available at authorized Yamaha dealers at a price of RM 19,998 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration).

The customers can buy the bike in two new attractive matte shades, including matt silver and matt blue. Out of which the matt blue version comes with nardo grey accents, while the matt silver edition gets red accents on the rims. 

The new bodywork on the 2020 YZF-R25 echos the bigger family member, the Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP. The graphics are now sleeker for a more aggressive look. There is an updated Multi-function instrument cluster and like earlier are the dual-LED headlamps and the 3-in-1 main switch.

Powering the 2020 YZF-R25 is the same 249cc two-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine that pumps out a max power of 36 PS at 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.6 Nm at 10,000 rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The suspension duties on the 2020 YZF-R25 are handled by USD (upside down) front forks with gold tubes and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. For braking, there dual-piston calipers with a single disc at the front and a single-piston caliper at the back.  

The bike weighs 166 kg, has a seat height of 758 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 14.3 litres. The seat height has been lowered by 22 mm as compared to the previous iteration. 

The 2020 Yamaha YZF-R25 is available at all the authorized Hong Leong Yamaha Motor dealership outlets.
