2020 Benelli TNT135 SE gets colour update
KUALA LUMPUR: Italian motorcycle manufacturer Benelli has introduced a new fluorescent green colour scheme to the 2020 TNT135 SE mini bike. Benelli is currently a fully owned subsidiary of the Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle Group. The entry-level Benelli TNT135 is priced at RM 8,198. The TNT135 SE commands a price of RM 10,888 inclusive of accessories but excluding insurance, road tax, and registration charges. The two-wheeler is already available in red, black, and white colours.
The TNT135 is hauled by a twin-spark, air-cooled 1,347cc motor which produces 13 PS maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The single overhead camshaft (SOHC) engine is mated to a five-speed transmission. The bike has a 7.2-litre petrol tank. The TNT135 is mounted on 41 mm upside-down front forks and a preload monoshock absorber at the back. The two shock absorbers have 120 mm and 50 mm of travel respectively.
The bike uses a 220 mm single disc brake in the front, clamped by a dual-piston calliper. The rear wheel uses a 190 mm disc brake with a mono-piston calliper. The two-wheeler rides on 17-inch wheels and is shod with 130/70-ZR12 and 120/70-ZR12 tyres at the back and front respectively. The height of the rider’s seat has a 780 mm ground clearance while the bike has a claimed weight of 121 kg. The Benelli TNT 135 has a monochrome LCD instrument cluster and an analogue tachometer. The entire bike gets LED lights.
Benelli currently sells 11 different two-wheelers in the Malaysian market that includes cruiser and moped. The TRE 1130K priced at RM 78,095K is the highest priced motorcycle from Benelli, while the VZ 125i, pegged at RM 5,288 is the company’s least expensive two-wheeler. The 2020 Benelli TNT135 SE will lock horns with the Yamaha 135LC, Honda MSX125, Kawasaki Z125 Pro and the Yamaha Y15ZR.
Benelli, meanwhile, is expected to launch the 402S motorcycle in Malaysia in April. The bike will be hauled by a twin-cylinder 3,993 cc engine producing 35 PS maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 35 Nm peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The bike is reportedly inspired by the Ducati xDiavel and is expected to be quite frugal regarding fuel efficiency and overall pricing.
