2019 Kawasaki Z250 ABS and Z400 SE ABS launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Kawasaki Motors (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.’s has launched Z250 ABS and Z400 SE ABS at its 30th Anniversary Gala Dinner. The Home Affairs Minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin bin Haji Muhammad Yassin was the guest of honor at the event.

Both Z250 ABS and Z400 ABS come with LED light setup at the front and the rear. The latter also features a monochrome LCD instrument panel having three user selectable display modes.

Kawasaki Z250 ABS is powered by a 248 cc DOHC parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine. It is capable of producing a maximum power of 37 PS, which comes at 12,500 rpm and the peak torque is 23 Nm coming at 10,500 rpm. The power is sent to the wheel via a six-speed manual gearbox by chain final drive layout.

As for the suspension, the motorcycle features a telescopic fork unit of 41 mm at the front, while there is a preload adjustable rear monoshock unit. The braking duties are done by a 310 mm single disc brake at the front and a single disc of 220 mm at the rear. The bike rides on the 17-inch wheels and it is only available in Candy Lime Green colour option.

On the other hand, 2019 Kawasaki Z400 SE ABS has a 399 cc DOHC parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 45 PS at 10,000 rpm, while the peak torque is 38 Nm coming at 8,000 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox along with assist and slipper clutch.

2019 Kawasaki Z400 SE ABS has a 310 mm single semi-floating petal disc, which is clamped by a two-piston calliper. Moreover, there is a single petal disc of 220 mm having dual-piston calliper with two-channel ABS at the rear. Speaking of the suspension, there is a 41 mm telescopic fork at the front, while preload adjustable monoshock is present at the rear.

Kawasaki Z250 ABS and Z400 SE ABS are priced at RM 21,998 and RM 28,755, respectively. The availability of the former will be announced shortly, while the later will arrive at Kawasaki dealerships by May 2019.
