Kawasaki Ninja H2 – Four things to know
Kawasaki really changed the entire game of making the flagship motorcycles on a global level when it came up with the mighty Ninja H2. Titled as the most technologically advanced and modern motorcycle of the current generation, the Ninja H2, in current times, is on the topmost position of every motorcycle enthusiast’s dream list of superbikes. So, what all things make the Ninja H2 such a special and heavily desirable motorcycle? Following are the topmost reasons:-
1) Concept
The Ninja H2 shares its name with the 1971 Kawasaki H2 (750SS Mach IV), a 2-stroke 748cc motorcycle which was fastest in its timeline. And having a Ninja moniker in its name, which is already synonymous for its credibility of being world class supersport machines, the Ninja H2 is clearly at the top of its game.
Also, the Ninja H2 is the only motorcycle in the Kawasaki lineup which gets the Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ coveted “River Mark” logo embossed on its upper cowl, as for those who don’t know, the Kawasaki Heavy Industries comprises of industrial units like Gas Turbine and Machine Company, Motorcycle and Engine Company, Aerospace Company, Plant, and Infrastructure Company, Precision Machinery Company, Ship and Offshore Structure Company and Rolling Stock Company, all of which have the ‘River Mark’ logo in common with each other. Most of the technologies of the Ninja H2 have been derived from these companies, hence it gets the coveted logo.
2) Technology
When it comes to being technology blessed, the Kawasaki Ninja H2 is not only the most technologically advanced motorcycle in Kawasaki’s lineup to date, it is also from all the other manufacturers in this business. The most noticeable one happens to be its supercharged 998cc inline-four engine, which makes the Ninja H2 the first ever street-legal motorcycle to sport a supercharged engine. This engine is capable enough of producing 200 PS of peak power output – the current benchmark in liter class supersport category. Other salient technologies of the Ninja H2 include ram air intake, trellis frame, single sided swingarm, aerodynamically designed bodywork and mirrors, separate functioning front inverted telescopic forks, 3-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), Kawasaki Launch Control Mode (KLCM), Kawasaki Intelligent Antilock Brake System (KIBS) and electronic steering damper.
3) Craftsmanship
Liter class supersport motorcycle is one such category where each and every motorcycle maker tries to show its best available technology and craftsmanship. With the Ninja H2, Kawasaki has altered the game by taking the aspect of attention-to-detailing to a new level. The Ninja H2 is one such motorcycle which has been crafted in a very beautiful manner, which is quite evident from its aerodynamic bodywork, silver mirror paint job, impressive welding work for its trellis frame. And the fact that they are made at Kawasaki’s hand assembly area ensures that all of them exhibit immaculate fit and finish levels.
4) Riding dynamics
Most of the supersport motorcycles available in the market right now have a larger emphasis on track worthy riding ergonomics to show that how sharply precise these motorcycles are to handle. However, the Ninja H2 is a completely different animal. Compared to other supersports, the Ninja H2 is quite a heavy motorcycle at 230 kgs. But then, it is made to enjoy the towering speeds with ease, which is why although the riding triangle is same as the Ninja ZX-10R, some tweaks have been carried forward, such as the single piece seat has been tapered at the front and hip support taken 15mm back as well as the footpegs too are positioned 10mm forward. All such little changes do make this motorcycle slightly more enjoyable for relaxed riding, its intense acceleration and high-speed stability as well as dynamics.
