Things we like
The latest generation Honda CR-V comes with that feature which was solely missed in all the previous generations of the SUV – the third row of seats. The SUV might not look too large on the outside, however, Honda has managed to make the cabin very spacious. The Honda CR-V has always had potent petrol engine options, which are extremely refined and benchmarks in terms of performance. The new-generation Honda CR-V too ranks at the highest when it comes to petrol engine refinement and performance. Given its premium appeal, the Honda CR-V doesn’t compromise on the levels of safety and build quality. With the best in segment list of safety features and strong build quality, the Honda CR-V feels very plush and premium. With its sleek designing theme at both front and rear, the new Honda CR-V looks very sharp and eye-catching, which gives it every bit of appeal of a premium vehicle. |
The Nissan X-Trail is the only SUV in its segment which comes with a petrol hybrid engine option, apart from the regular conventional petrol engine. The petrol-hybrid engine in the Nissan X-Trail not only feels more smooth and refined but also trumps other SUVs when it comes to fuel efficiency. With the presence of safety features like lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring system, forward collision warning, and forward emergency braking, the Nissan X-Trail is one of the safest premium SUVs in its category. For a premium SUV, the Nissan X-Trail has a good balance of comfortable ride quality and good driving dynamics. The SUV, despite having a high ground clearance, has negligible body roll, which makes the overall driving experience very pleasurable. |
Things we don't like
As compared to other SUVs in its category, the overall dimensions of the Honda CR-V are quite smaller, which do limit its road presence. It is not as large and intimidating as its other rivals like Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest when it comes to road presence. The Honda CR-V’s petrol engine has butter-smooth power delivery and good levels of refinement. However, the downside to it is the relatively low fuel efficiency. While the new Honda CR-V is being pitched in the market as a seven-seater vehicle, the limited space in the third row makes the last most seats best suited for smaller children only.
While the front and second row of seats in Nissan X-Trail are very plush and spacious, the third row of seats suffer from low space levels. Both the legroom and knee room are very low, which makes them best suitable only for small kids. The recent facelift of the Nissan X-Trail has made it quite eye-pleasing this time, however, it still lacks the road presence of other conventional full-size premium SUVs available at its price. While the Nissan X-Trail feels solidly built-in and out, the design of the central console on the dashboard is a bit unappealing. The presence of a number of buttons around the infotainment system makes it look a bit cluttered. |
