Being the last week of the month we didn’t expect a lot of activity in the automotive industry and that is exactly what happened. While the Malaysian market experienced no new launch or model update with only BMW Malaysia announcing XM SUV’s additional details and new price list for 2023. The international only saw the launch of a Yamaha scooter and the debut of the BMW M3 CS, and the 2024 Polestar 2. We hope February comes with its bag full of exciting news both for the local and international auto market.

2023 BMW XM official pricing announced
BMW Malaysia has finally revealed the price of its performance SUV, the XM. The car retails for RM 1,316,450 on the road without insurance and is offered in two trim options - the Shadow Line and Night Gold Line. Every purchase is accompanied by a standard 2-year warranty and for a little extra, i.e., RM 82,350, is available with the 5-year extended warranty and service package.
As per the XM’s official specs sheet, the two variants are mostly identical with both sharing features like - adaptive LED headlights, BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery, expanded exterior mirror package, M leather steering wheel, M seat belt, M carbon-fiber interior trim, BMW Individual dashboard in leather along with several standard cabin features.
BMW Malaysia 2023 complete price list is out now
The year 2023 started with the announcement of BMW cars getting a revised price list for all its models and now the automaker's website finally is up to the same. The new prices are on-the-road without insurance and include a standard 2-year warranty. A few models received a considerable price hike including - the 281i Gran Coupe M Sport, 530i M Sport, and M5. Also, costlier for the year are BMW models like the 1 Series, 4 Series, 6 Series, and Z4.
Perodua is working on a new model
According to the latest RHB Investment Bank report Perodua is said to be working on a new sedan which is expected to be the replacement for the ongoing Bezza. In case the news has some bones, the new Bezzais most likely come with a higher price tag. Also, the automaker is due to launch the all-new Axia this year around February.
BYD Malaysia has set an annual target of 3k for Atto 3
BYD SD Motors Malaysia, after experiencing a pretty overwhelming response for the new Atto 3, has now set even higher goals for the all-electric SUV. The automaker aims to sell 3000 units of EVs annually. So, roughly around 250 units a month which don’t seem like a lot.

2023 Yamaha Grand Filano launched
It was only recently that the Indonesian market was blessed by the Yamaha Fazzio, it now is on the receiving end of the all-new 2023 Yamaha Grand Filano Hybrid Connected scooter. Available at a retail price of 27.5 million rupiahs (approximately RM 7,764), the model falls in the same category as the Aerox 155. The model is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder Bluecore engine with SOHC and EFI making 8.2 hp at 6,500 rpm and 10.4 Nm at 5,000 rpm.
BMW Operating System 9 to debut on X1 SUV
From the second quarter of 2023, BMW will start offering its new BMW Operating System 9 on select X1 models in the UK. The automaker’s official statement on the same page read, ““This new operating system opens the door to an extended range of apps, optimized touch control, and more frequent updates. Additional BMW compact class models will follow suit in other countries over the course of 2023.” As the new OS9 requires new hardware, the existing models with OS 8 can not be upgraded to OS 9.
Patent images of the 2025 Toyota Tacoma out
Yes, the patent images on the Toyota Tacoma for the model year 2025 have made their way to the Brazil patent filing. The upcoming Toyota pickup features Tundra-inspired headlamps, and its rear styling also mimics the full-size truck. The car will be underpinned by the TNGA-F platform and will be powered by Toyota's turbocharged petrol V6 and inline-four petrol engines.
2022 was the best sales year for BMW Motorrad
The year 2022 shaped out pretty well for the BMW Motorrad with the Munich boys selling 202,895 units in 2022. Thus calling for a 4.4% hike in the sales volume over 2021 (169,272 units). In its home country Germany, BMW sold 24,129 motorcycles and 21,223 units in France. Asian markets experienced a 7.4% hike over 2022 with 46,332 units sold in total.
Polestar 2 EV updated for the model year 2024
For the model year 2024, the Polestar 2 update includes a new front fascia, new electric motors, powerful batteries, and a rear-wheel drivetrain along with sustainability improvements.
2023 BMW M3 CS unveiled
BMW has introduced the new M3 CS sedan, the M4 coupe’s sibling. The new limited production model is said to offer more power output, compelling performance, and weight loss. Powering it will be a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six engine making a maximum power of 550 PS at 6,250 rpm along with a peak torque of 650 Nm from 2,750 to 5,950 rpm.
