Warranty and free service extension announced by Mazda Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: After much delay, Mazda Malaysia has finally announced the extension of the company’s Warranty and Free Service Maintenance (FSM) for cars affected by the movement control order. Customers are just required to scan the QR code available on the company’s website.

With the movement control order extended, the automaker said it would continue to adhere to the safety and health guidelines issued by the ministry of health.

Bermaz Auto CEO, Dato Sri Ben Yeoh, said, “At Bermaz, we will remain vigilant in complying with the guidelines set by the ministry of health to maintain the health and safety of our employees, customers and the nation at large.”

Also, select Mazda service centres are now operational, so if you want to get your car serviced or repair, here’s the chance. However, there are a few standard operating procedures in place like, body temperature screening for staff and customers, and keeping at least two meters distance from one another.

All the technicians and staff members will be wearing surgical gloves and masks, and the personnel will thoroughly disinfect the car before moving forward with the servicing. All cabin parts, including steering wheel, dashboard, door handles, door trims, centre console, and others, will be adequately wiped and sanitised. Also, the car would be sanitised once again before handled back to the customers.

Further, Yeoh said, “We are now in an unusual situation, caught in a global pandemic, a time that none of us has ever experienced before. We are now under the movement control order to ensure social distancing. I am sure this will put a lot of stress on our families and us, because we as humans, our activities are always centred around family, friends, and colleagues. But we know this is necessary to ensure we curtail this epidemic in our community and reduce the contagion effect. We stay at home and practice social distancing, but always remember to spread love and care, through constant contact with the people we love.”

He added that connectivity can still be practised even when we all are distancing, and modern technology has allowed everyone to practice the diverse uses of mobile devices and its platforms, internet, and computer devices. Together, Yeoh said we’ll be able to come out of this crisis stronger and more resilient.

In the meantime, customers can contact Mazda via its Zoom-Zoom line at 1-800-22-8080 or through its 24-hour roadside assistance service at 1-800-18-8011.
