Volvo Thailand welcomes two new EVs, the EX40 and EC40

KUALA LUMPUR: In case you do not recognize the Volvo EX40 and EC40; we’d like to remind you that they are none other than the XC40 EV and C40. Volvo recently gave the cars new names following its global renaming exercise for the SUVs.

Coming back to the topic, our neighbor, Thailand has welcomed the all-new Volvo EX40 and EC40 all-electric SUVs. And guess what, these two new Volvo cars enjoy the same upgrades as the recently Malaysia-launched 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge.

New Volvo EX40 and EC40 - Key updates

Variants & Price: Both the new EX40 and EC40 are offered in three trim options in Thailand namely, Single Motor Extended Range, Twin Motor, and Black Edition. Their price ranges from THB1.99 million (approx. RM257,887) to THB 2.79 million (approx. RM361,560).

Powertrain: Both the EX40 and EC40 are offered in two powertrain options - a single motor extended range and a twin motor.

Battery: The battery setup is one of the key highlights of the two new Volvo EVs. While the twin motor variant in both EVs gets an 82 kWh battery pack, the SINGLE MOTOR variant gets a 69 kWh battery pack. While, the former offers a total range of 650 km, for the latter it is 590 km (NEDC rated).

Cabin features: The two Volvo cars feature an array of features that offer effortless connectivity via Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Play, over-the-air updates, Apple CarPlat, and a digital service package. The also gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display.
