Volkswagen redefining car shopping experience; started home delivery of cars

KUALA LUMPUR: The auto giant, Volkswagen, has proved that it is committed to serving its customers in the best possible way. Keeping up the brand’s philosophy “people first”, the automaker has come up with a new sales initiative that offers delivery of your new Volkswagen car right at your doorstep. Home delivery of a car, isn’t it exciting?

Along with enhancing customer’s convenience, the home delivery of cars redefines the automotive shopping experience in the new normal world. The service is available at all the authorized Volkswagen dealers of Malaysia. Delivery will be free for those who are located within a 20-kilometre radius from the place of their selected dealers.

Erik Winter, Managing Director of VPCM said that the initiative showed the company’s evolution in keeping up with the new shopping habits of consumers. “With the introduction of this service, we are closing the loop and making it easy for our customers to buy a Volkswagen from the comfort and safety of their own homes. It is as simple as selecting their preferred model on the eShowroom, finalizing the sales process, and having the new car delivered right to their doorstep.”

He further added that this initiative is part of the brand’s “Safe Hands” campaign, where the firm has adopted contactless procedures for both sales and aftersales to assure its customers that their safety is on top priority.

To ensure tip-top condition upon delivery, the all-new Volkswagen cars will be delivered on a single flatbed carrier truck and fully covered in canvas. The trucks are cleaned as well as disinfected before and after each delivery. The drivers are strictly following the Covid-19 safety protocols so that customers can have a safe and pleasant experience of getting their cars at home.

Once the car has been collected and is en route to the customers, they will receive an SMS notification. As an added safety measure, a welcome kit and car keys will be already placed in the locked car. For the customers' additional peace of mind, Volkswagen also offers a Deep Sanitisation service package, which is priced at RM 80. The brand claims that this package eradicates more than 99% of germs and bacteria from the car interior and air conditioning system.

Volkswagen started the “Safe Hands” campaign last month through which all the nationwide dealers have adopted strict hygiene guidelines framed by the company. It includes contactless vehicle acceptance, video walkthroughs, sanitization before and after the repair, and cashless payments.
