Volkswagen ID.4 Pro Performance previewed in Malaysia; here’s what we know
KUALA LUMPUR: Automakers are doing all things related to electric vehicles, so are introducing new EVs while others are setting up charging stations. Part of the former group is Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia that during the recently concluded Volkswagen Fest 2022 showcased the ID.4 Pro Performance.

The VW ID.4 model showcased at the VW Fest 2022 was the Pro Performance version.
Powertrain
The all-electric ID.4 Pro Performance is powered by an e-motor generating maximum power of 204 hp along with a peak torque of 310 Nm. A 77 kWh battery pack powers the electric motor. The drive is sent to the rear wheels and helps the EV accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds and attain a top speed of 160 kmph.
As for the most powerful ID.4, the GTX version is powered by a 295 hp dual-motor all-wheel drive system which helps it complete a century sprint in 6.2 seconds.
Charging
Volkswagen's latest EV can get charged either via an 11 kWh AC or 125 kW DC fast charging. The latter, the company claims, offers a 320 km of range in just 30 minutes.
Exterior
The ID.4 is built on the brand’s Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB) platform which offers a drag coefficient of 0.28. As for design, the car seems to be inspired by nature.

Cabin
Thanks to the MEB architecture the latest VW EV offers a spacious cabin with passenger comfort given the highest priority. Part of the car’s feature kit is - a 12-inch touchscreen with a ‘Hello ID’ voice control function, an ‘ID.Light’ a narrow light strip under the windscreen, and an optional augmented reality head-up display.
Also part of the EVs feature kit is - 30 colours of ambient lighting, air care climatronic 3-zone, easy open & close, ‘Discover Pro’ navigation system, proactive front seats with electric adjustment, wireless mobile phone charging, and wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.
Safety
Volkswagen has equipped the upcoming ID.4 EV with a strong safety kit which includes Dynamic Chassis Control, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Dynamic Light Assist, 360-degree camera, auto emergency braking front assist, dynamic road sign display, and side assists with lane charge system.
