Volkswagen comes up with Virtual Motor Show for the first time
KUALA LUMPUR: The health crisis all around the globe is hitting the businesses, including the automobile industries. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several automakers have suspended their production, many big auto shows have either been postponed or canceled, and grand car launches resulted in simple debuts via online channels. But the German automaker, Volkswagen has come up with something new for the customers, which is called Virtual Motor Show.
Volkswagen was dead excited and prepared for flaunting its brand new models at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, but since the show has been canceled, the firm opted to reveal its Geneva show stand on the internet. The company released a virtual tour of Volkswagen's Geneva Motor Show Booth online, which is interactive, and it's just like you are walking around the area with bright lights and music. It is digitally processed for the 360° experience and gives visitors a 3D-appearance of being at the show.
The Volkswagen fans can check out the latest VW models for two weeks at any time of the day, including Golf GTI, Golf GTD, Golf GTE, Touareg R as well as the ID.3.
The users can visit the virtual motor show online free of charge and can become a part of a guided tour. By clicking integrated additional features and interactive exhibits, they can have displays with different colors, wheel rims, or other optional appointments. In the end, the users are guided to a registration page where they can create a Volkswagen ID to receive customized offers in the future.
In this regard, Jürgen Stackmann, Member of the Volkswagen brand Board of Management, said, "I am pleased that our marketing team has succeeded in making our booth available to all visitors despite the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show. Virtually, they can experience our team’s attention to detail in the presentation of this show and our product highlights. Once again, this demonstrates that special situations call for special solutions."
He also added that firm intends to reach even more people in the future through virtual show visits in addition to the real presentation of vehicles.
