Upcoming Mazda CX-60 SUV leaked
KUALA LUMPUR: Mazda has unveiled the all-new CX-50, which is one out of the five new SUVs it has planned to roll out over the next two years. And just a day after it, one more model out of the bunch, the all-new CX-60 is here, although unofficial. It seems to be the enlarged cousin of the CX-50, which is basically a more chiseled and off-road-focused avatar of the CX-5.

The CX-60 pictures were posted on Instagram’s Kurdistan Automotive Blog (via CSK Review on YouTube). The leak previews the upcoming SUV completely undisguised with the ‘MAZDA CX-60’ script on the license plate.
The CX-60 that belongs to Mazda’s Large Product group is a two-row SUV. It looks bigger than the CX-5 and has a more elegant design in comparison to the CX-50. In the leaked shots, we can see a tall front grille edged by narrow headlights which look unconventional with DRLs positioned separately on the main beam. The bumper has a thin lower intake along with black intakes at the corners. On the sides, the SUV gets the normal round wheel arches. A sportier version with red door-mirror caps and a black grille is also snapped.
Slated to be launched by 2023, the new Mazda CX-60 rides on an all-new Large architecture with a rear-wheel-drive-biased layout. It is highly anticipated that it will be getting Mazda’s new turbocharged, mild-hybrid inline-six engine. However, a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine is also likely to be on offer.
While the CX-50 is specific to the US market, Mazda aims to sell the new CX-60 in markets having narrower roads and smaller parking lots like Japan and Europe.
The other three SUVs that Mazda will be introducing soon are the CX-70, CX-80, and CX-90. Destined for the US, the CX-70 and CX-90 will have a wide-body type, with the former having two rows and the latter having three. The three-row CX-80, on the other hand, will join the CX-60 in European and Japanese markets.
