UMW Toyota sold 8.5k units in August 2024, YTD stands at 64k

KUALA LUMPUR: As the third quarter of the year approaches its end, Toyota continues to solidify its position as a leading non-national automotive brand in Malaysia. The Japanese automaker sold a total of 8,500 units (Toyota + Lexus) in August 2024, which brings the year-to-date total to approx 64,000 units. 

The best-selling Toyota models in August 2024 were the Vios, Hilux, and Corolla Cross, showcasing the strong and steady demand for Toyota vehicles in sedans, pick-ups, as well as SUVs segments in the country.

Last month, UMW Toyota also introduced the upgraded versions of its three important models - Hilux, Fortuner, and GR86. If we talk about the updates, the brand’s top-selling pickup truck gets a Panoramic View Monitor and Remote Engine Start in select variants and a Vehicle Stability Control feature in the 2.4 Single Cab. The rugged and versatile Fortuner benefits from a GR Body Kit Package and Remote Engine Start system. 

The Toyota’s dynamic coupe, on the other hand, now offers sharper handling with enhanced throttle response and refined suspension tuning. Also part of the upgrade is a new front and rear Digital Video Recorder (DVR).

Moving forward, the brand has rolled out the September 2024 promo named "Move in Harmony,” which offers up to RM 9,500 savings on the purchase of the Toyota Yaris, with monthly instalments starting from as low as RM 658. Customers can also take advantage of the Toyota Service Savers program offering monthly payments of as low as RM 31.

Speaking of UMW Toyota's upcoming motorsport event, the company will host the highly anticipated Toyota Gazoo Racing Season 7 Round 2 on 27-29 September 2024. The event will be exciting with international participants from Singapore, Thailand, and India competing for top positions.

Set to be held at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit, Toyota Gazoo Racing Season 7 Round 2  will be streamed live across the brand’s various social media platforms.
