UMW Toyota reveals July 2024 sales numbers; announces August promo and Merdeka Showroom Weekender event

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota has revealed its sales numbers for July 2024. During the month, the Japanese automaker sold a total of 9000 units (including Toyota and Lexus models), representing an impressive month-on-month growth of 18.2%. However, the company’s year-to-date sales total of 55,800 units shows a 2.1% decrease compared to the same period last year.

"Our July sales performance is a testament to our strategic approach and the trust our customers place in us. We are committed to continuously delivering exceptional value and innovative mobility solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers," said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT.

Besides achieving strong sales numbers, UMW Toyota introduced two new Lexus models last month viz. Lexus RZ 450e and the Lexus LBX. Priced at RM 429,888, the Lexus RZ 450e is the brand’s fully dedicated BEV model powered by a dual-motor setup capable of generating a maximum power of 313 hp and a peak torque of 435 Nm. 

The Lexus LB, on the other hand, is a robust self-charging hybrid designed for the entry-level SUV segment. It comes in two fully imported variants - Premium and Luxury, priced at RM 238,888 and RM 268,888, respectively. Both trims are equipped with a 1.5-litre NA three-cylinder engine and an electric motor, making a combined output of 136 PS and 185 Nm. 

UMT Toyota has also rolled out the "Discover Merdeka Exclusives” promo for August 2024, which offers customers savings of up to RM 8,000 for the Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric, with monthly instalments starting from as low as RM 1,058. Further, the Toyota Service Savers program offers monthly instalments starting from as low as RM 31.

Speaking of UMW Toyota upcoming events and community engagement programs, the company will host the Merdeka Showroom Weekender on August 17 and 18, 2024 to celebrate Malaysia’s Independence Day. This patriotic-themed event will take place at all Toyota showrooms from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, offering visitors the chance to test drive popular Toyota models and explore trade-in and pre-owned car options from Topmark outlets.
