UMW Toyota registers highest-ever Q1 sales

KUALA LUMPUR: 2023 seems like a good one for the auto industry, with Proton seeing a more than 50% growth over Q1 2022, UMW Toyota has registered the highest-ever Q1 sales ever!

While we have already discussed the Proton Q1 2023 sale in detail, it is time to see how the Japanese automaker performed during the last three months.

Toyota Malaysia Q1 2023 sales: Key highlights

• The brand sold a total of 25,219 cars
• Compared to 2022, UMW Toyota’s year-to-date sales figure showed a 12% hike
• In March alone, Toyota sold 9,136 cars which included 9,012 units of Toyota and 110 units of Lexus
• In February 2023, the brand sold a total of 9,297 cars which is slightly more than the March sales figure

In the upcoming months, UMW Toyota is optimistic about its sales numbers, especially with the recent launch of the new Vios. “The All-New Toyota Vios represents our commitment to providing our customers with the best vehicles and ownership experience. The All-New Toyota Vios is definitely a model that we are proud to put on the road and we hope many Malaysians will be able to enjoy driving the Vios”, said the brand’s President, Datuk Ravindran K.

A premium evolution over the last gen-model, the 2023 Vios is offered in two variant options; Standard E and range-topping G both priced at RM 89,600 and RM 95,500, respectively.

What else is new with UMW Toyota?

• Under the UMW Green Shoots Initiative, the brand planned a tree plantation event wherein it planted up to 6,100 trees with the help of 250 volunteers (consisting of teachers, students, and staff volunteers from different universities).
• The brand has announced a new Ramadan promo wherein it is offering a promotion worth RM 8000 along with 100% loan financing and a Toyota Service Saver promotion with monthly installments (as low as RM 22), on select models.
