UMW Toyota delivers 9,228 units in September 2023; YTD crosses 76k mark

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota witnessed sustained growth in the month of September with a total sales of 9,228 units (9,020 Toyota and 208 Lexus). The total year-to-date sales of the non-national automaker now stand at 76,511 units. Compared to the first nine months of the last year, it represents a hike of 8.0%.

Alongside achieving sustained growth, UMW Toyota undertook the following noteworthy steps in September  -

New Toyota Yaris 

Toyota introduced the improved version of the Yaris hatchback that further strengthened its leading position in the non-national B-segment hatchback market. The Yaris IMP boasts a few styling tweaks, a fresh interior ambience, and new technology features. Reflecting the “Dare To Live: Amp Up Your Vibe” tagline, the new Yaris aims to deliver excitement to a Gen-Z audience looking for an upgrade in their status symbol. It is offered in two variants - 1.5E and 1.5G, priced at RM 88,000 and RM 91,600 respectively.

The Yaris IMP is aimed at Gen-Zs drivers who have strong appreciation for style, self-expression and social standing. New Toyota MY app

The Japanese automaker also introduced its new Toyota MY app providing features of both Toyota Drive and Toyota 24Seven apps onto a single app. It is available for iOS and Android devices and offers different features like checking vehicle info, making service appointments, requesting 24Seven roadside assistance, locating a Toyota outlet, the latest Toyota news and promotions, and more.

Toyota Dream Car Art Contest 2023/24

In early October, the company launched the 17th edition of the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest 2023/24. This global art competition encourages children to envision the future of mobility under the theme 'Igniting Young Minds to Reimagine Mobility.' It started on October 9, 2023, and will select nine Malaysian winners from three age groups to compete internationally in 2024. With 780,000 entries from 90 countries and regions in 2022, the contest exemplifies Toyota's commitment to fostering global community engagement.

Toyota Service Savers program

Customers enjoyed cost-savings and flexible professional car care and genuine Toyota parts with the Toyota Service Savers program. Under this program, new customers can save up to RM 814 on a 5-year package for Hilux models and enjoy attractive savings on other Toyota models. Existing owners can choose discounted 2-year servicing packages, with Hilux drivers saving up to RM 569.
