benchmarks, our focus remains on providing meaningful and innovative mobility.”
Toyota didn't just talk the talk but walked the walk, dominating the overall non-national automaker scene in 2023 with a record-breaking 108,107 units sold (Toyota and Lexus combined), grabbing a hefty 32% slice of the non-national passenger vehicle pie (just Toyota). They ruled the SUV realm with 22,533 units sold, claiming a cool 19.6% market share in the non-national arena.
But it didn’t stop there and there's no surprise here. Toyota also led the pack in the pickup segment, registering 27,447 units in 2023 and snagging a 47.2% market share. They even aced the panel van game with 3,424 registrations, a perfect score with a 100% market share.
The end of the month also saw the wrap-up of the Toyota Eco Youth Programme (TEY) 2023/2024 at the Everly Hotel, Putrajaya. Teaming up with the Ministry of Education, UMWT showcased how green education's making waves among the youth.
With 15 schools, 60 students, and 15 teachers in the mix, they tackled environmental issues head-on. Since its start in 2001, TEY's made its mark on 506 schools and 2,690 students. Kudos to SMK Seri Ampang in Kedah for clinching the TEY Championship and bagging RM30,000 for their stellar 3R project. The winning squad got to hold that big ol’ mock cheque high and proud.
Plus, UMWT didn’t miss a beat, opening a shiny new 3S outlet in Nibong Tebal, Penang, early February to make sure everyone gets the top-tier service and access they deserve.
Datuk Ravindran K. shared, “Embarking on the new year, our dedication resonates in the joy and mobility we offer. Our commitment extends beyond vehicles to crafting experiences that bring happiness and superior services to all our valued customers. We emphasise our commitment to ensuring daily life offers accessibility, creating happiness and mobility for all."
And, get this, UMWT is gearing up to drop something big in February with their Beyond Zero event, spotlighting Toyota’s bold steps towards a carbon-neutral future by 2050. They’re set to unveil a slew of mobility options that cater to all sorts of needs, lining up with Malaysia’s green goals.
February’s also buzzing for them with Toyota’s "Flow of Fortunes" promo, giving folks up to 100% loans on select models, alongside cash rebates and freebies up to RM4,500.
With deals like monthly payments starting from RM688 for the All-New Vios and RM658 for a fresh Yaris, plus the Toyota Service Savers program offering easy monthly payments from just RM18, Toyota’s making car ownership a breeze in the Year of the Dragon.
