Toyota Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition unveiled

KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota has introduced a new Gazoo Racing-badged Prius called the Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition. It marks the 100th anniversary of the iconic 25 Hours of Le Mans race and is the product of joint efforts of Toyota, Mazda, and the Japan National Tourism Organisation.

The latest Prius is showcased as a concept and gets an aggressive body kit that includes only a visual makeover with no power upgrade.

• The new Prius concept offers excellent driving performance, all thanks to its aerodynamic kit which includes front and rear canards, a carbon fiber new fixed rear wing, a carbon fiber bonnet, a rear diffuser, and a new front splitter
• The visual makeover includes a new massive honeycomb lower grille, motorsports-inspired multi-headlamps clusters, and new decals all around the car (including ‘Racing Hybrid’)

• Also, part of the setup is a new ‘wide tread’ suspension that widens the front and rear tracks by 40 mm and lowers the car by 30 mm. Thus, offering excellent grip and maneuverability
• The special edition Prius stands on new 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/50R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubbers

• Powering the special edition Prius is a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter mill and an e-motor. Together, the two make 223 hp of peak power
• Toyota Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition completes a century sprint in just 6.7 seconds
