Toyota OutRun 2023 raises RM 170,000 for National Cancer Society Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota has recently organised its second-ever Toyota OutRun 2023 at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur after a hiatus of four years. A total of 4,300 participants registered for the event which was aimed to support the National Cancer Society Malaysia.

Alongside the 5 km and 10 km races, Toyota OutRun 2023 was filled with fun activities like a race village, concrete and plant workshops, and performances by the artiste, De Fam, and Toyota Yaris ambassador, Janna Nick.On the success of the event, the President of UMW Toyota Motor, Ravindran K. said, “We are delighted to see the overwhelming response and participation for our second Toyota OutRun, which is done on a much larger scale following the success of the first event, back in 2019.
“As part of our CSR commitment, we have partnered with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) for this year’s initiative, in which 100% of the registration proceeds, worth about RM 170,000, will be donated to them.”
With its theme as “All for One, Run for All,” the Toyota OutRun 2023 was in line with the company’s new vision of Move Your World. It is backed by the “idea of making running,” which is rather seen as an individualistic sport as well as something more collective. The theme signifies that “everyone can challenge their own impossible when they run together and empower a movement among all communities.”

The first Toyota OutRun was held in 2019 as a part of the Start Your Impossible (SYI) initiative. It is a campaign that began in conjunction with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which motivates everyone to challenge their own impossible. The first run saw a total of 3,000 participants with proceeds transferred to the Paralympic Council of Malaysia.
Compared to 2019, this year's event was bigger as along with 5 km and 10 km races, it was filled with fun activities like a race village and concrete and plant workshops. The artiste, De Fam, and Toyota Yaris ambassador, Janna Nick also entertained the participants with their mesmerising performances.
